Here we have our most recent project; Cadmus, located in the beautiful Devon coastal town of Salcombe. We worked alongside our client, Peter Williams of Cadmus Rock Ltd, to construct these Exterior and Interior CGI images for the purpose of marketing.
Situated within the South Devon area of Outstanding Natural beauty this unique property overlooks the Salcombe estuary, known amongst nature lovers for supporting a rare UK population of seahorses! The exterior design features include standing seam zinc cladding, and blue slate roof tiles which beautifully juxtapose with the matt white external render. The light grey aluminium windows and coastal grass plants open up the outdoor space and invite the inhabitant outside to enjoy the view. Rich timber detailing on the fences, pergolas and front doors encase the properties modernity, as well as providing privacy and security. The front exterior image highlights subtle design cues such as the use of solid timber doors and coastal mix planting to blend the house into its neighbouring properties and natural surroundings. The rear terrace balcony of all 3 units overlook the the estuary, using glass balustrades to enable the water to be seen from every space within the property.
The use of natural materials continues throughout the property and includes the Salcombe sandy oak wooden flooring which matches with the staircase treads and bannisters to create a clean, calming environment. In direct contrast to this are the Farrow & Ball Pitch Black treated windows which, together with the hand woven woolen carpet, work to boost the minimalist credentials of this modern space.
This project was particularly enjoyable for us at Archilime as we got to work with renowned interior designer Rachel Cropper. Our in house interior design artist, Lianne, worked alongside Rachel to provide many of the stand out interior details around the property such as the Bonaldo Dining table and Poliform Bristol Sofa in the living space. The interior delights continue into the bedroom with a Paul Frankl side table delicately placed to catch the light from the rear facing windows.. One of our favourite interior details within the property is the Fornasetti printed candles which rests upon the Credenza; the ceramic candle vessel is decorated by the face of Opera singer Ms Lina Cavaleria and enriches the room with both art and scent.
