Architectural Visualisation – What’s in Our Toolkit?

Here at Archilime, we take architectural visualisation very seriously – We believe that having the correct set of tools is just as important as having the know-how and ability to perform a certain job. In an industry such as ours that requires a great deal of advanced technical equipment, there is no room for inadequacy or a setup that “just about manages”. It really is all or nothing and we prefer to go all in and invest heavily in our technology, to ensure that our end service and products are visually perfect. So what can you expect to find in our toolkit? What wonders of modern technology do we employ to cope with the demanding task of 3D graphics rendering?

Virtually limitless processing power – Intel Xeon dual 12 core

Processing power is vital in our field of business and the processors present in our computers really pack a punch. Intel has created efficient and powerful processor chips for decades and the Xeon E5 12 core is a true monster! Clocked at 3.1ghz per core, this provides a stable base in conjunction with a high amount of dedicated RAM to ensure that we can operate programs with ease and fluidity.

Graphics – Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080

Graphics is our bread and butter – It’s what we create! Therefore it stands to reason that our devices require the latest graphics cards to aid the rendering process and provide a crystal clear display and high frame-rates. The GTX 1080 is one of the most powerful cards available on the market and has won numerous awards for its performance and design. With a whopping 8gb of memory, this card specialises in 4k and VR rendering.

Rendering Capabilities – Advanced render farm setup

Rendering is a huge part of our business and aside from the computer power, we also require dedicated render farms that specifically and solely perform this process. Our cluster of render nodes are kitted out with 64gb of high spec RAM and in total, we operate approximately 300 cores with 600 threads. This immense cluster setup allows us to effectively and seamlessly render 3D and VR files with a high degree of accuracy and detail to create perfect end products.

Digital drawing – Wacom Intuos Tablet

When editing and creating detailed graphics and VR environments, a mouse simply does not allow enough movement or control. The Wacom Intuos tablet is a high spec graphics tablet that allows us to exert a greater level of precision during our work. These tablet work as an extension of our hand and the level of sensitivity provided really pays dividends when making minute adjustments and edits to our 3D renders.

Armed with this extensive and advanced toolkit we can tackle any project, and will provide outstanding results and end products time and time again. The quality of out toolkit is only rivalled by the passion, drive and love that we pour into our work on a daily basis – You can see the results for yourself!
