When it comes to talent, opportunity and think tank innovation, the UK is a melting pot of capacity. This year, the nation is gearing up to host a line-up of seriously inspirational design events, covering everything from the latest 3D technology and next generation software developments to interior décor trends and architectural movements. V&A Illustration Awards 2016 Exhibition

On show until August 26, this exhibition features the entire collection of winning works from this year, including book illustration, cover art and editorial graphics. For book buffs and art lovers alike, it’s a unique opportunity to see the crème de la crème of illustrative talent.

Reasons to

With a wonderfully debaucherous festival vibe, ‘Reasons to’ is a celebration of designers, coders and creators from across the globe. Needless to say, the vibe reflects the colourful and upbeat attitude of its host city. This year’s September installment is set to feature an impressive line-up of guest speakers, including Laura Jordan-Bambach, Mr Bingo, Joshua Davis, Jessica Hische, Eva-Lotta Lamm, Seb Lester, Stefan Sagmeister and Gavin Strange.

The London Design Festival

Held across the city, the London Design Festival is a nine-day extravaganza of creativity. Major features include extraordinary projects and installations from world-leading architects and designers.

Decorex International

Synonymous with luxury, this event is fronted by a coveted collection of 400 hand-selected exhibitors. For interior designers with hell heeled clientele, it’s a great place to source inspiration from leading brands, as well as up and coming designers.

Building Prosperous Cities

For forward thinking architects, this Ecosystems Knowledge Network event is a not to be missed opportunity to explore the role of green infrastructure and natural capital when planning urban hubs. Catch it on September 27, with insight from keynote speakers such as human behaviour expert Tim Stonor and environmental economist Ian Dickie.

Drawing Futures

Another one for architecture aficionados, Drawing Futures is an innovative new international peer-reviewed conference spotlighting speculative drawing for in both art and architecture applications. It brings together some of the world’s leading practitioners to discuss the critical role of drawing within the industry. If you love your old school pencils and sketch books, this one is a must!

TCT Show

3D printing is playing an increasing role in the design sphere, and the TCT Show is a highly charged event that sure to shine the spotlight on the emerging technology. With dozens of inspirational speakers, more than two hundred exhibiting companies and thousands of visitors, it’s a kaleidoscope of insight, education and innovation.

SoCraTes
